Crazy Nancy's Crazy World

Welcome!
I just want to say, my name is not Nancy.  But I am Crazy Nancy.  My world is wild and different every day.  I never know what I am going to see and/or do or say for that matter.
First, I want to tell you a little about myself.  I have lived most all of my 46 years in Arkansas.  I married a good man and we have been married for almost 25 years.  We have one beautiful daughter that is about to turn 23 and is just finishing her 5th and final year at UCA in Conway.  Hubby and I suffered the "empty nest" syndrome.  I went thru an almost deep depression.  I prayed to God to help me fill my extra time with something that would help someone else.  I wanted to volunteer somewhere but I kept putting it off.  This went on for three years until one afternoon I received a call from one of my grown nieces to hear her tell me about her younger sibblings needing help.  They were 8, 10 and 12 and were living in a house with no electricity, no gas and no money to improve the situation.  I immediately went and picked up the kids for a long weekend until the electricity could be turned on.  I volunteered to take the kids for a while to help the mom get back on her feet.  Well, the rest is history.  I have had the kids now for over a year now and they are doing great!  I went from being a mom of an only child to a guardian of three.  Wow, what a shocker.  My life has not been the same since.  I can't wait to tell you more about it.
I am a nursing home administrator and have been in the long term care industry for 18 years.  I love my elders and will do anything and everything in my power to ensure their lives are the best they can possibly be.  They make me smile and laugh every day.  Just last night, Ms. Allie told me that all she wants for Christmas is a boyfriend that is good lookin' and has some money so they can buy cookies and candy and one that she can hold on too and boss around.  Ms. Allie is 97 years old.  I look forward to sharing more on that in the days to come.
I grew up, with two brothers, in a small town and there are stories to tell there also.
When I was about 18 I found out that I have a sister that is 2 years older than me.  She is currently lost somewhere in Texas.  I have recently found another sister (we have the same first name) and she and I are building a relationship.  After visiting with her I find out that there are two more brothers.  I haven't been able to find either one of them.  I am wondering if I am a part of a Dugger type family.
My parents are divorced and that is a story in itself.  My mom works at Wal-Mart and drives a little great pickup truck with yellow stripes down the side.  They are not the kind of stripes that are put on at a body shop.  They are the results of sliding down the yellow poles in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  My dad has now been married several times.  I say several because I can not remember how many happy occasions there have been.  The current wife is a two-fer and I mean that they have done the happy dance twice.  Did I mention there is some dementia?     Can't wait to tell you about my special friends.  Fancy Nancy, Darrell and Darrell, Re-Joyce, Ms. Daisy and Aunt Clara all have a story that are sure to make you laugh.   I have several soap boxes and things that make us say "Hmmmm".   Rude store clerks, dirty Wal-Mart stores, teenage drivers, log truck drivers, magic gloves, and the list goes on and on and on.
I hope you enjoy my blog and I welcome any and all comments and advice.  Welcome to Crazy Nancy's Crazy World.  Come back soon.  Ps.  It's nap time.  :)
